Dear Supervisor Powers:
Lorraine Alice Harck,
Replica Department Manager I feel certain you may know of us, and the scandal perpetrated on our
project by top officials of the Town of Ddirville, wren ldsL March after
BOARD QJ DIR5CTORS drinking inside the unfinished Magee Park, they trespassed, vandalized
Richard L. McClain, CLU and converted the MEMORIAL SIGN ERECTED TO HONOR OUR CO-FOUNDER, William
Ch3irman ot the Board Penn Mott. Too much has been said and done about this Die past 18 months.
I an writing to you for another reason. Try as I may, I simply cannot
get our District 3 5uperv1sor to support our project. I visited Ms.
Bishop in her offices about 8 months ago, and she indicated she liked
the idea of a museum and a fan-shaped meadow, which before he died, Bill
helped design and gave his name to. I got a call from an aide saying
Ms. Bishop had just called in on a car phone, saying to tell me she would
support our plan. When no confirming letter came, I called her office and
Chris Genovale ('r) told me the supervisor had been told she could not move
to support our plan without Vic 1lestman's okay, because it would affect
"the supervisors".
Mould that affect you. . .? If so, how? And since when does county counsel
decide what supervisors do and do not support.
It happens we have been told Westman is my 2nd cousin, or some shirt-tail
relative. God forbid.
Now we have a sentenced criminal living in a public park, funded by the
Supervisors (a political subdivision of this State) , being condoned and
even rewarded for his crime before the park is even dedicated. It is an
outrage.
Just who appointed the Lynn Yaney's and Karen McPhersons, Ron Crane, and
others who serve on a county-appointed OPO, whose judgement is this poor?
As far back as when Bill Reilly served as Alamo Parks & Recreation, we
have had nothing but problems and doors shut in our face.
Bill Mott deserves better. I deserve better, as a taxpayer.
The statutes of this state do not support landlocking and shutting off
road access across a public park. I have asked for a supervisorial heanng
numerous times, but get nothing. . . .can - or will you help me?
Patti Parks McClain, Volunteer Director
