PHIL BATCH OR.CLERK OF THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS AND COUNTY ADMJNISTRATOR
, , , BY ,DEPUT
Because the number of eligible applications received
are not sufficient to fill all seven positions of the Byron
MAC, declare the seventh position vacant at this time.
Supervisor Torlakson's office will re-advertise the
position, and make a recommendation to the Board after
interviews have been conducted.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On March 15, 1994 the Board of Supervisors approved the
establishment of the Byron Municipal Advisory Council .
Inclusive ,with the approval of that action, Supervisor
Torlakson was authorized to initiate recruitment and conduct
interviews for candidates to serve on the Byron MAC. Having
done so, Supervisor Torlakson is now requesting approval by
the full Board of the candidates indicated.
The resolution adopted also indicated that the initial
board would be comprised of four members serving four year
terms, and three members serving two year terms. If the
members were elected, those serving four and two year terms
might be designated by the highest number of votes; however,
the community has requested that the Council be appointed at
this time. As this is the case, it is suggested that the
new Council., at its first meeting, determine which members
will serve what length of term by random drawing.
