The County and Firefighters Local 1230 have met and conferred in good faith and have reached agreement to distribute savings from the QualMed Health Plan to employees in this bargaining unit in a manner identical to other members of the County Labor Coalition; and, 2. Representatives of the County and Firefighters Local 1230 have executed the attached tentative agreement dated ,July 27, 1994 agreeing to terms for the distribution of savings; NOW THEREFORE: The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex officio governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: The attached ,July 27 1994 Tentative Agreement between the County and Local 1230 is adopted effective July 1 , 1994. 1 hereby Certify that this is a true and Cor►eCt Copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supavis rs n the date shown. Dept: Personnel Department cc: Auditor-Controller/Payroll Fire Districts (Via Personnel) Local 1230 (Via Personnel) RESOLUTION N0. 94/402 TENTATIVE AGREEMENT ON DISTRIBUTION OF HEALTH PLAN SAVINGS July 27, 1994 The County and IAFF Local 1230 agree to jointly recommend that the Board of Supervisors consider and adopt the following settlement on distribution of savings obtained through replacement of the 1 st Choice Health Plan with the Qual-Med Health Plan in February 1994. The parties understand and agree that this settlement does not prejudice in any way the negotiations currently underway to reach a new Memorandum of Understanding or the proposals being exchanged by the parties in those negotiations with respect to salary adjustment. 1 . Effective July 1 , 1994, increase the salary for all classifications represented by Local 1230 by 10 levels. 2. Effective January 1 , 1995, increase the salary for all classifications represented by Local 1230 by 10 levels. 3. Any net savings achieved by the County from the replacement of the Ist Choice Health Plan by the Qual-Med Health Plan for those classes eligible to receive a salary increase as provided above in 1 and 2 which is above the cost of the 20 level increase shall be added to the 10 level salary increase effective January 1 , 1995. 4. The savings shall be computed on a per cap basis as follows: a. The County's "original cost" shall be computed by adding together the gross subvention for each represented employee in 1 st Choice for the month of 10-01-93, the sum then increase by 149 . b. The County's "current cost" shall be computed by adding together the gross subventions of each represented employee who transferred from 1 st Choice to Qual-Med for the month 10-01-94. C. The amount of money to be provided as additional monthly salary increases shall be the "original cost" minus the "current cost" minus the monthly cost of the 20 level wage increase.
