THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order of August 2, 1994, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Smith, Bishop, De Saulnier, Torlakson and Powers
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
RESOLUTION NO. 94/395
SUBJECT: Authorizing the Director of General Services to Complete
Application to the California Energy Commission (CEC) for
Participation in the Energy Partnership Program.
WHEREAS Senate Bill 880 has provided funds to the California Energy
Commission (CEC) for energy support to local governments through
the Energy Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS Contra Costa County qualifies to participate in the CEC' s
Energy Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS Contra Costa County recognizes that participation in the
CEC' s Energy Partnership Program will allow for better use of
limited staff and resources and provide expertise to deal with
energy matters; and
WHEREAS it is in Contra Costa County's best interest to develop a
comprehensive, cost-effective strategy for managing the heating and
cooling equipment needs of County Buildings and planning for the
future; and
WHEREAS the CEC can provide a feasibility study, without cost to
the County, which will evaluate the heating and cooling needs of
designated County buildings and make recommendations for equipment
and measures which are energy efficient and cost effective, and
which may include alternative energy systems; and
WHEREAS the CEC is available to conduct additional energy studies
on a requested basis, which may include a County commitment of
matching funds/in-kind services (which can include project rebates
from other agencies such as PG&E) of up to 25 percent for each new
requested activity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
Contra Costa County hereby AUTHORIZES and DIRECTS the Director of
General Services to file an application with the California Energy
Commission for participation in the Energy Partnership Program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE BOARD on August 2, 1994 .
