I have walked, driven, and ridden my bicycle along Stone Valley Road many times (and used the same when I attended Stone Valley Elementary School on Miranda in the late 701s) . There is no need to widen Stone Valley Road and certainly no need to install a Stop Light at Miranda. Widening the road will only serve to increase traffic and speeds along Stone Valley Road, both of which the widening is supposed to solve . The proposed widening will irreparably alter Alamo' s rural character by cutting the oak trees near the Fire Station and turn Stone Valley Road into another grotesque urban planners dream. I am astounded by the perception that a Stop Light is needed at Miranda . Please take the time to drive this section of Stone Valley Road. There is never a backup, except when the P.T.A. mothers drive their brats to and from school and that lasts for approximately ten minutes in the morning and early afternoon. If this delay is unacceptable, spend the relative pittance on a Crossing Guard during these peak times instead of the outrageous $140, 000-just the interest would pay for the Crossing Guard and eliminate this eyesore from Alamo . If anything needs to be done, underground the drainage system near the Fire Station and resurface the road. However, do not allow any trees to be cut down nor allow any Stop Signals to be installed. In conclusion, NO WIDENING AND ABSOLUTELY NO TRAFFIC SIGNAL! ! SAVE ALAMO! ! T ncerely1ker ul R. I L Psas " v o 9 CD v c Y YOU mow= Co tL Supervisor.
