MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: July 26, 1994 SUBJECT: Reject bids received on July 5, 1994 for the Drainage Area 76, Miranda Creek Improvement Project. Project No. 7505-6F8535-93 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: REJECT bids received on July 5, 1994 for the Drainage Area 76, Miranda Creek Improvement Project and, DIRECT that any bid bonds posted by the bidders are to be exonerated and any checks or cash submitted for security shall be returned. II. Financial Impact: NONE III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The total cost for the engineering, rights-of-way, and construction contract exceed the funding available for the project. A different, less expensive, solution must be found or additional funding must be secured before the inadequate capacity problem on Miranda Creek can be solved. IV.
