Dear Board of Supervisors:
The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Orinda Fire Protection District wishes to go on
record as supporting Acting Chief Allen Little for appointment as permanent Fire Chief of
the Merit Districts in the County.
Acting Chief Little has been a regular attendee at Orinda Fire Protection District
Commission meetings since April 1993. We have.been very favorable impressed with his
administrative ability as well as his knowledge of fire suppression and equipment.
Allen Little was faced with a tremendous task when appointed to the position of acting
chief upon the retirement of so many chief officers. He has almost singlehandedly held the
County fire services together during a period when morale and organization could have
deteriorated.
It is now time to reward Allen Little for his efforts and appoint him as permanent Chief.
We highly recommend him for the position.
Sincerely,
AJC
Charles K. Glynn
