MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: SEPTEMBER 14, 1993 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 FOR AIP 3-06-0008-05 AT CONTRA COSTA COUNTY-BYRON AIRPORT SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute Contract Change Order No. 3 to compensate the Contractor, Dutra Construction, for additional work at Contra Costa County-Byron Airport. II. Financial Impact: This Change Order requires an adjustment of $5,790 to the Contract price to date of $648,271.60 resulting in a Contract price of $654,061.60. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Change Order deals with the wetlands mitigation construction and changestothe Contract, Plans and Specifications which include the following: Nylon fiber additive to concrete mix for ditch lining ($825); Demolition of kit fox/burrowing owls dens ($1,265); Caterpillar tractor rental ($1,200) and removal and disposal of existing PCC irrigation control structure ($2,500).
