Dear Mr. Torlakson:
We have been alerted by the San Francisco District of the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers that maintenance dredging in New York Slough will be required no later than
July of 1994. The contact there is Ted Bruch, in the Operations Department, (415) 744-
3295.
Due to the length of time it takes to identify and permit dredged materials sites, and
the additional time it will take the Corps to prepare the plans and specifications, test the
sediment, and advertise for bids,we wanted to give you sufficient time to locate and permit
a dredged material site for this purpose. The Corp's preliminary estimate is that 100,000
cubic yards of material will be dredged.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, or Mr. Krygsman, the
Port Director, who is presently out of the office, but will return on September 7, 1993.
Very truly yours,
Patricia A. Huff
