SUBJECT: Authorize the Amendment of a Purchase Order to Pacific Gas and Electric Company for
Utility Relocations for the Drainage Area 10, Lines C-2, C Extension and A-1 Project in the
Town of Danville

I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
AUTHORIZE the amendment of an existing purchase order to Pacific Gas and Electric Company
(PG&E) to increase the purchase order by $4,003 to the total amount of $29,003 for the
relocation of their facilities in conjunction with the Drainage Area 10, Lines C-2, C Extension and
A-1 Project.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total relocation cost of the utility relocation is $29,003 funded by Drainage Area 10 (100%).
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Drainage Area 10 project improves drainage on Prospect Avenue, EI Dorado Avenue and
Verona Avenue in the Town of Danville. The project was designed to minimize utility conflicts.
However, conflicts with PG&E facilities could not be entirely avoided and utility relocations were
necessary. On July 21, 1992 the Board authorized the initial purchase order in the amount of
$25,000 which was the estimated cost by PG&E. The work has been completed. However, the
final billing was $4003 more than the estimated amount.

IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The gas pipelines have already been relocated. If the purchase order is not amended for the
increased amount, the Flood Control District will fail to meet its legal obligation.
