Electrical service is provided by means -of extension cords. Most of them are not connected to the sever. Those which are connected have probably been connected without benefit of proper' permits. The Health Department has responded and confirmed that sewage is being,', dumped under the trailers . I request that representatives of all the County agencies involved with this operation meet with a Citizen's Committee to determine the- extent of the violations. If violations are substantiated , then I request that the Land Use permit be revoked since the permit is conditional upon establishing proper permitted use . (See attachment) THE CONTINUED VIOLATIONS ON THE PART OF MAJOR BUSINESS AND MANY CITIZENS TO AVOID CONNECTIONS TO THE SEWER AND THE PAYMENT OF PROPER FEES . Thousands of dollars in permits and fees have been lost to the Sanitation District as the result of dilatory action on the part of the District Staff and Advisory Committee. Law abiding citizens of the district; many of whom are on fixed incomes , are therefore subsidizing a number of major businesses and other citizens who are cheating the system. I request that immediate action be taken to enforce connections to the system and to collect all back fees and service charges due since the system became operative. I am writing this as a private citizen, and the views expressed here are my own. However, if all the above violations are not corrected , I intend t.p involve the Bethel Island Municipal. Improvement District in the formation of a citizens committee to take whatever action s.eems appropriate to stop the "rape" of this community .by a few opportunistic business men.
