P-300#16144 Establish the class of Supervising Structural.Engineer at salary range
C5-2342 ($4723-5740)and reclassify person and position#34-00040 Senior Structural
Engineer at salary range C3-2293 ($4958-54660 to Supervising Structural Engineer
at salary range C5-2342 ($4723-5740).
P-300 #16144 from the Building Inspection Department requests creation of the class
of Supervising Structural Engineer and reclassification without exam of a Senior
Structural Engineer(Seon Thung). This position is now supervising both structural
engineers and plan checking staff. Subject position has been performing these
higher level supervisory duties for the past 22 months. NOTE: This item was pulled
from the 7120193 Agenda (Item 1.34) by the department in order to reduce the
proposed salary.
ANIMAL SERVICES
P-300 #16201 Reallocate Class of Animal Services Officer from salary level C5-1529
($2095-2547) to salary level C5-1559 ($2159-2625).
BUILDING INSPECTION
P-300# 16205 Revise and retitle the classification of Grading Engineer at salary level
C5-2081 ($3638-4422) to Senior Grading Inspector at salary level C5-2041 ($3496-
4249). P-300 # 16205 requests the revision and retitling of the class of Grading
Engineer to Senior Grading Inspector at a salary savings of $173 per month. The
Grading Engineer position is currently vacant due to a retirement The Senior
Grading Inspector position will be filled by a competitive examination. This action
reflects the downsizing being accomplished in the Building Inspection Department.

Department requests creation of the class of Supervising Structural Engineer and
reclassification without exam of a Senior Structural Engineer (Soen Thung). This
position is now supervising both structural engineers and plan checking staff.

salary level C5-1972 ($3263-3966) to Computer Operations Manager at salary level
C5-1923 ($3107-3776).
Establish the class of Network Analyst at salary level C5-2161 ($3941-4790) and
reallocate positions #03-00216 and #03-00234 Senior Program Analyst at salary level
C5-2161 ($3941-4790) to Network Analyst at salary level C5-2161 ($3941-4790). P-
300 #16196 from the Data Processing Department requests the class of Network
Analyst be established at the same salary level as Senior Program Analyst. It also
requests that two Senior Analyst positions and incumbents be reallocated to the new
class. This is a cost neutral action being taken to reflect a significant change in
duties and to keep Data Processing Department classifications in line with current
industry practices.

salary level C5-2052 ($3534-4296) to Senior Transportation Planner at salary level
C5-2223 ($4235-5148). P-300 #16187 was submitted by the Community Development
Department on 5/20/93 and forwarded to Personnel by the CAO on 5/27/93. Subject
position is one of three transportation planners reporting to Steve Goetz, Principal
Planner in charge of Transportation Planning. MR. Goetz reports directly to the
Director of Community Development. In addition to the three transportation
planners there is one clerical position in the Transportation Division. Prior to the
hiring of Mr. Pulon, this division had 3 Transportation Planners.
