MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: JULY 27, 1993 SUBJECT: BUCHANAN FIELD AIRPORT - LEKAS INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX - FIFTH AMENDMENT TO LEASE SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to EXECUTE, on behalf of the County, a Fifth Amendment to Lease with Bessie Lekas, Trustee, Bessie Lekas Living Trust Dated 3/20/91 and Helen Lekas, Trustee, Helen Lekas Living Trust Dated 3/20/91 (Lessees), for leased premises at the Buchanan Field Airport, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in said Fifth Amendment to Lease. II. Financial Impact: Rent will increase from $1,600.00 to $2,165.00 per month and will continue to be deposited in the Airport Enterprise Fund. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The County's lease provides for a revaluation of rent every five years. A rent increase from $1,600.00 to $2,165.00 per month has been negotiated with the Lessees. Approval of the Fifth Amendment to Lease provides for this rent increase.
