IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Commending Local )
Businesses, Cities, and. School ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/ 620
Districts for Participating in )
the "Spare the Air" Campaign )
The people of Contra Costa County are aware of the importance of a
clean and liveable environment, and a liveable environment includes
clean air for all citizens to breathe. To achieve clean air
requires a commitment by the business community to curb air
pollution from vehicle use, the work environment, and pollution
sources in the home.
In Contra Costa County, 37 businesses, cities, and school districts
have voluntarily joined the "Spare the Air" campaign aimed at
educating employees about the sources and alternatives to polluting
behavior. A voluntary approach to reducing air pollution by
altering individual behavior provides a cost-effective way to
provide cleaner air and a more liveable environment.
The Board of Supervisors wishes to recognize these 37 participants
for their initiative and active involvement in protecting our
precious environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
commends the Contra Costa County businesses, cities, and school
districts for their participation in the "Spare the Air" campaign
and urges others to follow their lead.
