Project No.: 0672-6U2505, 2506 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION 1. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE the issuance of a blanket purchase order in an amount not to exceed $100,000 to Morton International Bauer Coatings of Los Angeles, California for furnishing traffic striping and pavement marking paint and coating materials during the 1992-93 fiscal year. II. Financial Impact: Road funds in the amount of $100,000 are available for the procurement of paint and coating materials. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Paint and coating materials are required to perform the routine maintenance and replacement of traffic striping, pavement marking and curb painting by County forces. The General Services Department's Purchasing Division solicited bids for an assumed quantity of paint and coating material. The vendor's responding to the solicitation and the amounts bid are the following: Morton International Bauer Coatings $86,056. Pervo Paint Company 100,517. September 15, 1992 Page 2 The current estimate of paint and coating needs for the year exceeds the quantity assumed for bidding purposes. Therefore, the payment limit of the requested blanket purchase order is higher than the low bid amount. IV.
