RECOMMENDATION EXERCISE the first two-year option to extend the Lease with the United States Postal Service for 15 parking spaces at 815 Court Street, Martinez, for continued use by the County, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in .said Lease. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT Payments required are to come. from the budget of the General Services Department. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND Provide parking space as requested by the County Administrator. Facilities SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMUMATIONS Authorize the County Administrator and General Services Director, or their designee, to take the following actions to ensure maximum .utilization of County owned and leased . facilities, under the direction of the County Administrator' s Office; A. Work closely with County departments to determine those facilities which may be closed and leases terminated. Identify other County occupied facilities, preferably County owned, which may accommodate staff required to be relocated. B. Identify vacant spaces that may be leased out to generate revenues. Authorize the assistance of private realty agents through contracts, in marketing of such space, as required. BACKGROUND- The budget and staff reductions that your Board has approved will result in reduced space requirements for County departments. Leases will. be terminated, to the extent that they can be. Staff will be consolidated into remaining facilities, with the priority that consolidation occur in County owned. facilities.
