August 4, 1992 CC: Harvey Bragdon ATTESTED Community Development Director PHIL BATCHELOR,CLERK OF THE BOARD OF Victor J. Westman, County Counsel SUPERVISORS AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR Vicki Conklin, Project Planner, CDD M382 (10/88) BY BACKGROUND: On July 1, 1992, Vicki Conklin from the Community Development Department wrote to our Committee on behalf of the Keller Canyon Landfill Citizens Advisory Committee, noting that the attendance by representatives of several organizations which are members of the Citizens Advisory Committee has fallen to less than 50% of the meetings . This creating a problem in achieving and maintaining a quorum for the conduct of business . We are, therefore, authorizing staff to write to the four organizations whose attendance has fallen below 50%, asking the organization whether it wishes to continue to be a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee and, if so, to either encourage their representative or alternate to attend more regularly or appoint a representative who will be able to attend the meetings more regularly. We are asking the Citizens Advisory Committee to report back to us in September. At that time, we will recommend to the Board of Supervisors either that organizations be eliminated from the Citizens Advisory Committee, or that their representative be changed or that whatever other action seems appropriate be taken. It is likely that we will also recommend at that time the addition of the Ministerial Alliance to the Citizens Advisory Committee. 2
