Spooner, Contracts Administratofo COSta DATE: July 24, 1992 County SUBJECTApproval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-052-1 with Holy Names College SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chair to execute on behalf of the County, Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-052-1 with Holy Names College for the period September 1, 1992 through December 31, 1995, for field experience for nursing students. This agreement will allow Holy Names College nursing students to receive field instruction in Public Health Nursing. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: The purpose of this agreement is to provide students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with application skills and attitudes at progressively higher levels of performance require- ments and responsibility. Supervised field work experience for students is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students' services to patients. Approval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-052-1 will provide clinical experience in Public Health Nursing for students enrolled at the Holy Names College.
