Quintus Sakai, M.D. to the at large vacancy on the County Planning Commission. BACKGROUND: There is currently a vacancy in an at-large seat on the County Planning Commission, resulting from the resignation of Eric Lane. Our Committee received 26 applications for this vacancy. We screened this down to 13 applicants whom we invited to personal interviews . Two of these applicants did not appear for the interview, but 11 applicants were interviewed. We were extremely pleased by the quality, knowledge, dedication and commitment of the applicants we interviewed. This fact has made it very difficult for us to agree on a single applicant to recommend to the Board for this appointment. Supervisor Schroder prefers to appoint Richard Clark to the at large vacancy. Mr. Clark, a resident of Danville, is President of Danville Associates, Inc. , a real estate investment and management firm. Mr. .Clark is currently the District 3 representative on the County Planning Commission. If Mr. Clark is appointed to the Commission, Supervisor Schroder will recommend the appointment of Dr. Sakai as the District 3 representative on the County Planning Commission. Supervisor McPeak prefers to appoint Dr. H. Quintus Sakai to this I vacancy. Dr. Sakai, a resident of Walnut Creek, is a retired Radiologist who was the Director of Radiology at Los Medanos Community Hospital for 26 years prior to his retirement.
