4. This is an annual supply of hydrant wrenches which is maintained to replace hydrant
wrenches that break or get lost during the year. Maintaining an annual supply cuts down
on costs associated with multiple orders and availability due to shipping delays.
5. The 2.5" nozzles and playpipes were ordered to install a 2.5" attack jump line on the
rear of all our engines.
The 1.5" nozzles with shutoffs were ordered to replace nozzles and shutoffs lost or
damaged beyond repair.
6. The two Elkhart Brass piston relief valves were ordered to replace two Snaptite piston
relief valves, made of an aluminum alloy, which are corroded beyond repair.
Many supply orders are routinely delayed until the latter part of the fiscal year to:
1. Maximize interest earnings of monies held in County Treasury
2. Allow for unexpected equipment breakdowns
3. Determine all expenditures would be safely within approved budget
