THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on July 21, 1992 by the following vote:-

SUBJECT: Presentation by California Integrated Waste Management Board for the
Designation of the Recycling Marketing Development Zone for the Contra
Costa Shoreline
This being the time scheduled for presentation by the California Integrated Waste
Management Board for Recycling Marketing Development Zone Designation.
Chair McPeak announced that the California Integrated Waste Management Board is
making the designation for Recycling Market Development Zone to include Contra Costa
County Shoreline and certain of its cities. She commented that the County is delighted to
have this presentation here in the Board Chambers. Chairman McPeak introduced members
of the California Integrated Waste Management Board. Jess Huff, representative of the
public on the California Integrated Waste Management Board and Chairman of its Permitting
and Enforcement Committee, a member of its Policy, Research and Technical Assistance
Committee, the Administration Committee and the Markets Development Committee, made
the presentation of the recycling zone designation to Contra Costa County and certain of its
Cities.
Chair McPeak introduced Rosemary Corbin, a member of the City Council of
Richmond and Chair of Contra Costa County Waste Management Local Task Force, the 939
Task Force; Dan Pernell, Mayor of Pinole and Chair of the West Contra Costa Integrated
Management Authority; Barbara Woodburn, City Councilwoman from the City of Martinez,
Barbara Price , City Councilwoman from the City of Antioch;, staff from the zone member
agencies: from Delta Diablo Sanitation District, Acting General Manager, Mike Alexandra;
Assistant City Manager from the City of Brentwood, Dave Brennan; and the recycling
specialist from the City of Pittsburg, Kevin Carrunccio.
Jeff Huff presented plaques to the various agencies. Representatives of the various
agencies expressed their appreciation for the plaques and recognition and the opportunity to
participate in this program.
Chair McPeak expressed her appreciation to all the participants. Board members
expressed their individual appreciation to the participants.
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that its appreciation is DECLARED to all the
participants in the Recycling Market Development Zone of the Contra Costa County
shoreline.
