(ESTABLISHING CHILD CARE FACILITY FEE
FOR SMALL RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows (omitting the parenthetical
footnotes from the official text of the enacted or amended provisions of the County
Ordinance Code):
SECTION I. SUMMARY. This ordinance establishes child care facility fees applicable to
residential developments of 29 or fewer units, in lieu of an assessment study.
SECTION II. FEE. The following fees are hereby established:
(a) The developer of a residential development of twenty-nine units or fewer shall
pay a base child care facility fee of $400.00 per unit.
(b) The developer of a residential development of twenty-nine or fewer
condominiums or town-houses shall pay a fee equal to one-half of the base child care facility
fee.
(c) The developer of twenty-nine or fewer apartments of two bedrooms or more shall
pay a fee equal to one-fourth of the base child care facility fee.
(d) The developer of twenty-nine or fewer studio or one-bedroom apartments shall be
exempt from a child care facility fee.
SECTION III. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective 60 days after
passage, and within 15 days of passage shall be published once with the names of the

supervisors voting for and against it in the CONTRA COSTA TIMES ' a
newspaper published in this County.
