MARTINEZ NIORAGA In addition the Conference has appointed Clayton resident ORINDA Beverly Walcutt. This came about because I had the impression after calling your office, that the position P1�'O� need not necessarily be filled by an elected official . PITTSBURG (Ms. Walcutt is the wife of a Council Member. ) Since that PLEASANT HILL time apparently, according to your letter of July 18, Supervisors McPeak and Schroder have indicated their RICHMOND preference that the positions be filled by elected SAN PABLO officials. SAN RA.MON Because of the growing number of commissions, , committees WALM-7 CREEK and task forces , it is becoming increasingly difficult for city elected officials to take on additional responsibilities. This in no means represents a -lack of interest. The Conference hopes that Ms. Walcutt be allowed to serve. Two other seats remain vacant and these .positions are on the August l agenda. I have been working with children for the past 15 years and feel I would bring a lot of knowledge and experience with me. I spent eight years in the San Diego and La Habra School Districts working with K-6 and special education junior high students. I have also worked in the pre-school/daycare field for 7 years. I started as an aide and as I attained my education and training in Early Childhood Development, I worked my way up, to director. I am currently' `the 'Owner/Director of ' Miss Pam's Discovery Center in Concord.
