HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09101991 - H.7 H. 7 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on September 10, 1991 by the following vote : AYES : Supervisors Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson and Powers NOES : None ABSENT: Supervisor Fanden ABSTAIN: None ----------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Hearing On Appeal by Scott and Diana Walker On LUP 2076-90 In the Walnut Creek Area On August 6 , 1991, the Board of Supervisors continued to this date the hearing on the appeal by Scott and Diana Walker (appellants) from the decision of the Contra Costa County Planning Commission acting as the Board of Appeals on the request by Scott and Diana Walker (applicants and owners) for a residential second unit (LUP 2076-90) in the Walnut Creek area. Mary Fleming, Community Development Department, presented the staff report on the appeal and recommended that the Board uphold the Planning Commission decision to' uphold the Zoning Administrator' s decision, accept the environmental documentation, deny the appeal of the owners and deny the residential second unit but approve the three story variance for the structure and approve the findings as provided by the Planning Commission and direct staff to post a notice of determination.. The following person presented testimony: Scott Walker, 2050 Blackwood Drive, Walnut Creek, (appellant/applicant/owner) requested that the Board approved the staff recommendation Option B to grant their appeal and requested that the Board waive the development fees for the second unit . The public hearing was closed. Supervisor Schroder requested that the decision be deferred for one week and he expressed that he would like to find a way to provide the allowance of the second unit . Supervisor McPeak seconded the motion. The Board discussed possible consideration of amending the Second Unit Ordinance . Supervisor Schroder amended his motion to defer decision to October 22, 1991 . IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the hearing on the above appeal is CLOSED; and decision on the appeal of Scott and Diana Walker on LUP 2076-90 is DEFERRED to October 22 , 1991 Decision Calendar; and County Counsel is DIRECTED to prepare a proposed amendment to the Second Unit Ordinance addressing the issue of lot size.
