HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09101991 - 1.44 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) CONGRATULATING the San Ramon Valley ) Little League 12-year old all-stars on) winning the Little League National ) Championship. ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/ 587 WHEREAS, little league is a national pastime which over 2. 5 million American boys and girls participate in each year; and WHEREAS, the All-Star team from Danville, through extreme dedication and skill captured the 1991 Western Regional Championship thereby earning an invitation to play in the Little League World Series at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, the San Ramon Valley Little League 12-year old All-Stars capped off a ten game winning streak on August 22, 1991 by outscoring the Staten Island, New York Little League team to capture the title of Little League National Champions; and WHEREAS, all of the players on the 12-year old All-Stars, Jason Barringer, Danny Basso, Greg Brown-Davis, Graham Dobbin, Kevin Graham, Kyle Gross, Nate Hudson, Greg Isom, Kyle Jackson, Joey Loveland, Steve Otus, Kolby Rucker, Kahelyn Smith and Justin Staley, their manager, Troy Ward, their Coach, Wayne Gross, and their Assistant Coaches, Ken Smith, Dan Hudson, Jim Jackson and Brad Rucker showed great courage and commitment in their quest for the world title. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County CONGRATULATES the team members of the San Ramon Valley Little League All-Stars, their manager, coaches and families on their extraordinary achievement. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors present on this 10th day of September, 1991.
