SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Authorize the Director of Community Development to execute on
behalf of the County a contract amendment with the firm of
Woodward-Clyde Consultants, in the amount of $5, 500. 00,, for the
preparation of Findings and a mitigation monitoring and reporting
program for the proposed Erickson Hazardous," "' Waste
Treatment/Transfer Facility.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of preparing the Findings ($3, 500) will be borne by the
project sponsor, which is Erickson Enterprises. The cost of
preparing the mitigation monitoring and reporting program ($2, 000)
will be paid through the 25% surcharge on the cost of the
environmental impact report, which has been previously assessed on
the applicant.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
On April 25, 1989, the Board approved the execution of a contract
with the firm of Woodward-Clyde Consultants for the preparation of
an environmental report for the proposed Erickson Hazardous Waste
Treatment/Transfer Facility. The Final Environmental Impact Report
has been prepared in accordance with the contract. To complete the
environmental documentation for this project, Findings as. 'required
by the California Environmental Quality Act and a mitigation
monitoring and reporting program, as required byAssembly 0
(Statutes of 1989) must be prepared.
