Approve application and resolution for two $21,000 projects in Alamo and. Rodeo.
Authorize East Bay Regional Park District to act as our agent for the Rodeo
project.

BACKGROUND[REASONS FOR RECOWENDATIONS
These funds are entitlement funds from the 1988 State Park Bond Act. The R-7A,
Alamo �proj eat would be the first phase development of Hap Magee Park while the
Rodeo project is the acquisition of tidelands in cooperation with the East Bay
Regional Park District.

RESOLUTION NO. 90/4 98
SUSTBCT: Applications for )
State Park Bond Act Funds )
Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County approving the
application for grant funds for the per capita grant program under the
California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988 for the
following projects:
Magee Park Development, Alamo
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California
Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988, which provides funds
to the State of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring and/or
developing facilities for public recreational and open space purposes; ,and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting
up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the
program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and
Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval ,of
applications before submission of said applications to the state; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must comply
with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California
for acquisition or development of the projects;
-NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors
hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for the Per Capita Grant Program
under the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of
1988 state grant assistance for the above projects; and
2. certifies that said applicant understands the assurances and certification
in the application from; and
3. Certifies that said applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate
and maintain the projects; and
4. Appoints the Director of Ccmunity Development as agent of the County of
Contra Costa to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents
including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, payment
requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned projects.
