HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07241990 - 2.3 I> a.3 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on July 24, 1990 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson, Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None ------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBJECT: Conversion of County Vehicles to Natural Gas Barton J. Gilbert, Director, General Services Department, advised that four County vehicles are designated to be converted to natural gas as part of a pilot program. He stated that the first vehicle has been converted and will be put into service next week. He noted that the vehicle was similar to those used by PG&E and would be fueled at the PG&E site in Concord. Mr. Gilbert commented on proposed Federal legislation which would require 25% of fleet vehicles to be converted to alternative fuels by the year 2000 . He stated that the reliability of the current test vehicles will determine how many County vehicles will ultimately be converted. He noted, however, that the County may well be in the forefront in meeting Federal regulations.
