Justification
I. RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the Public Works Director to sign Crossing Guard
Agreements for Fiscal Year 1989-90 with the Martinez Unified
School District, the Richmond Unified School District, and .the
Oakley Union School District.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
ESTIMATED 1989-90 COST FROM GENERAL FUNDS
Martinez Unified School District = $10,572 . 00
Richmond Unified School District = $19,956. 00
Oakley Union School District = $12 , 165. 00
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The Board of Supervisors adopted a policy for providing School
Crossing Protection on April 3 , 1979, and the Board amended its
policy on May 5, 1987. Pursuant to this policy, crossing guards
are warranted on Arlington Avenue - at Ricon Road in Kensington,
on " San Pablo Dam Road at May Road in El Sobrante, on Pacheco
Boulevard at Camino Del Sol in the Vine Hill area in Martinez,
and on State Highway 4 at Douglas Road in Oakley.
