Commending Leslie K. Davis ) RESOLUTION NO. 8 9/5 9 0
on her outstanding and dedicated )
service to the community
WHEREAS,Leslie K. Davis completed her term on the County Planning
Commission on August 15, 1989,bringing her total years of service to the county to 15 years;
Leslie K.Davis was employed for nine years in the County
Assessors Office;
IHEREASI she served as planning commissioner for the City of Brentwood
from 1977 to 1979, and as planning commissioner for the county from 1981 to 1989;
she served as Chair of the Planning Commission during 1986, and
found her greatest challenge was chairing the landfill hearings;
as chair of the Planning Commission, her accomplishments included
implementation of time limits for speakers before the Commission; introducing a 10:00 p.m.
limit for introduction of agenda items at Commission meetings; requiring illuminated street
signs on all development projects; and opposing the change of street names through an inter-
section;
WHEREAS,Leslie Davis presently chairs the County Agricultural Task Force
and has served as a member of the Highway 4 Task Force and the Comparable Worth Task
Force;
she is a member of the Soroptimist International of the Delta, the
National Womens Political Caucus, the International Association of Assessing Officers, the
Contra Costa County Appraisers Association, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce and the
East Contra Costa Board of Realtors;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY,CALIFORNIA,does hereby commend
Leslie K. Davis for her dedicated and committed service to the community,particularly as a
county employee and planning commissioner.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 12th day of
September, 1989.
