III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Director has filed with the Board of Supervisors
the Plans and Specifications for the Christen Drive Bridge
Replacement Project.
The Plans and Specifications provide for the closure of Christen
Drive to all traffic at the Contra Costa Canal for approximately
10 weeks.
The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum
rates paid on this project, have been filed with the Clerk of the
Board and copies will be made available to any interested party
upon request.
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the
General Plan. It has been determined that this project is
exempt from CEQA requirements as a Class 2 Categorical Exemption.
The project involves removing an existing bridge and constructing
a new bridge in the same location. No right of way acquisition
is required. No increase in traffic will occur as a result of
the project. The Board hereby concurs in said determination.
