Justification
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE the Plans and General Provisions and Authorize Issuance
of a Purchase Order for furnishing labor and materials for the
subject project to Calco Fence, Inc. , the low bidder, in the
amount of $6, 998 . 40 and at the unit prices submitted in said
bid.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This project including engineering and appropriate overhead
charges is funded by the State Department of Water Resources
(1000) .

III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
Four bids for the project were received and opened at 255
Glacier Drive, Martinez, on Tuesday, August 8 , 1989 . The
Engineer's Estimate for this project was $7 , 800.
Other bids received were as follows:
1. Delta Fence Co. , Inc. $9 , 470. 40
2 . Alta Fence Co. 71219 . 00
3 . Anchor Fence 7 , 051. 00
This project is required to replace an existing fence which was
removed for the construction of San Ramon Bypass, Phase II. A
Negative Declaration pertaining to the San Ramon Bypass project
(PW 83-48) was published on July 8, 1983 without protest.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
Failure to provide the fence on the subject project will delay
Kaiser Foundation' s plans to securely store temporary trailers on
their property.
