BACKGROUND: Residents of unincorporated Martinez suffered greatly with air problems attributed to the IT Baker and Vine Hill evaporation ponds, our ground water was contaminated and County Staff has spent unknown hundreds of hours dealing with problems attributed to IT. Therefore it is only reasonable that this severe hardship be considered in distributing this court awarded settlement.
