Adopted this Order on December 13, 1983 by the following vote:

SUBJECT: Approving the Operations Contract for Central Contra Costa Recycling
Center.
On May 15, 1981, Contra Costa County received a grant from the State
Solid Waste Management Board for the development of a central County recycling
center. The Contra Costa Community Recycling Center, Inc. has been operating
this center since then, under contract to the County. The contract expired
on October 31, 1983. On July 12, 1983, the Board of. Supervisors approved the
recommendation of the Recycling Committee that the County enter into an agreement
with Contra Costa Community Recycling Center, Inc. for operation of the recycling
center during fiscal year 1983-1984 with the amount of subsidy to operate the
center to be a County contribution of $1 for every $2 contributed by the cities
to a maximum of $5,000. The City of Concord has budgeted $5,000 for the recycling
center; the City of Martinez has budgeted $3,000 for the center; and the City
of Pleasant Hill has budgeted $1,100 for the center for a total of $9,100.
Using the approved formula, the subsidy from the County is $4,550.
The Public Works Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors
approve the contract with the Contra Costa Community Recycling Center, Inc. for
fiscal year 1983-1984.
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the recommendation of the Public Works
Director is hereby APPROVED and the Chair is authorized to execute the contract.
