FINANCIAL IMPACT: None BACKGROUND: On April 4, 1989, Supervisor Schroder requested that the County Administrator report on the county funds used for paratransit services. There are three major program areas in the Health Services Department which require non-emergency transportation: special patient needs, fixed route, and specific programs, e.g. , Congregate Meals for Seniors program. Expenditures for patient non-emergency transportation occur when authorized staff determine that a patient needs transportation, but lacks the resources . Fixed route provides transportation between the clinics and Merrithew Memorial Hospital.
