SUBJECT: Approve the Alteration of Purchase Order #P36715 to
Increase Amount to $16, 620. 00 for Utility Relocations
for the Upper Pine Creek, Project No. 7520-6B8689,
Concord Area.

Justification
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize the alteration of Purchase Order #P36715 issued to the
Pacific Gas and Electric Company to increase the payment limit to
an amount not to exceed $16, 620. 00
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Purchase Order #P36715 has a payment limit of $14, 495. 00. The
recommended alteration will increase the payment limit by
$2 , 125. 00.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The purchase order provides for the relocation and bracing of
three power poles and underground conduit which conflicted with
the Corps of Engineers ' Upper Pine Creek project. The actual
relocation costs exceeded the estimated cost. PG&E agreed to
perform the relocation with the understanding that their actual
costs would be reimbursed.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
Failure to alter the purchase order allowing payment of PG&E's
costs will result in the requirement for advance deposit of funds
for future relocation projects.
