The following item was brought to the attention of Board members after the agenda was posted, and the Board unanimously agreed on the need to take action. Supervisor Fanden recommended to the Board that Matt Biondi, Moraga Olympic Gold Medalist, should be honored in a special manner by the County of Contra Costa. Jean Mesick, Community Development Department, recommended the creation of a special medal to honor Mr. Biondi. Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that a resolution be AUTHORIZED to be prepared for Matt Biondi, Moraga, Olympic Gold Medalist; and Community Development Department is DIRECTED to create a medal from Contra Costa County honoring Mr. Biondi.
