SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT,
TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT #ONE TO CONTRACT #87F-6436 (HOMELESS GRANT)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Executive Director, Community
Services Department, to execute on behalf of the County
Amendment #One to Contract #87F-6436 between the County and the
Department of Economic Opportunity.
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT
N/A. Funds for this program are included with the Department' s
1988-1989 County Budget.
III . CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
Failure to authorize this Contract will result in the withhold-
ing of needed contract services to County residents.
IV. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDED ACTION
This Contract, in the amount of $49,782. 00, provides homeless-
ness services to eligible residents of Contra Costa County.
The proposed amendment takes the following action:
1. Extends the Contract termination date from August 13 ,
1988, to September 30, 1988.
2. Makes revisions to the original Contract Budget.
3 . Makes revisions to the original Service Plan.
This agreement has been approved by County Counsel as to form.
No County funds are involved with this request.
