SUBJECT: REZONING - Scott & Sandy Rovanpera, et al ( 2792-RZ) , 5. 38 acres from
General Agricultural District (A-2) to Single Family Residential Dis-
trict (R-40) - Walnut Creek area. (S.D. III )
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Approve rezoning application 2792-RZ, from General Agricultural
District (A-2) to Single Family Residential District (R-40) , as
recommended by the County Planning Commission on July 26, 1988.
2. Adopt the Planning Commission' s findings as set forth in its
resolution No. 45-1988 , as the basis for your Board' s decision.
3. Accept the environmental review documentation as being
adequate.
4. Introduce the ordinance giving effect to the rezoning; waive
reading and set date for adoption of same.

Mary Fleming, Community Development Department, presented the
staff report and described the rezoning request and the site in
question. She commented that the requested rezoning is consistent
with the General Plan for the site and that staff is recommending that
the property be so rezoned.
The public hearing was opened.
The following person appeared to speak:
Jim Schuricht, 2630 Salvio Street, Concord, representing Bob
Hammill, 396 La Casa Via, Walnut Creek, spoke in support of the
rezoning and commented on rezoning for the entire area that they would
like to see approved.
Scott Rovenpera, 449 La Casa Via, Walnut Creek, applicant, spoke
in support of the rezoning.
The public hearing was closed.
On recommendation of Supervisor Schroder, IT IS BY THE BOARD
ORDERED that recommendations 1, 2, 3 , and 4 are APPROVED; and as in
recommendation 4, Ordinance No. 88-77 is INTRODUCED, reading waived
and October 4, 1988 is set for adoption of same.
