SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-009-10 � ��lly
with Contra Costa Radiology Medical Group , Inc.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the
County, Contract Amendment Agreement 426-009-10 with Contra
Costa Radiology Medical Group , Inc . effective September 27 , 1988
to amend Contract #26-009-9 (effective July 1 , 1988 - June 30,
1989 ). with an $11 ,000 increase in the contract payment limit to
cover additional costs of malpractice insurance coverage which
are reimbursable under the terms of the contract . This amend-
ment increases the contract payment limit from $588 ,638 to a new
fiscal year total of $599 ,638 .
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT :
Approval of this amendment will result in an increase in the
contract payment limit of $11 , 000 , from $588 ,638 to a new total
payment limit of $599 ,638 . These radiology services are 100%
County funded in the Enterprise I budget .
As appropriate , patients and third-party payors are billed for
radiology services .
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
On July 19 , 1988 the Board approved Contract #26-009-9 with
Contra Costa Radiology Medical Group , Inc . for provision of pro-
fessional diagnostic radiologic services for Contra Costa County
Health Services Department .
Under the terms of the contract , the County reimburses the
contractor for two-thirds of the actual cost of professional
liability insurance premiums required for the contractor to per-
form professional services for the County. This amendment
increases the amount provided under the contract for insurance
reimbursement by $ 11 ,000 , from $8 , 906 to a new total of $19 , 906 .
This document has been approved by the Department ' s Contracts
and Grants Administrator in accordance with the guidelines
approved by the Board' s Order of December 1 , 1981 (Guidelines
for contract preparation and processing , Health Services .
