Spooner , Contracts Administrator (�,,����,,}} DATE: September 8, 1988 Costo County SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Agreement 429-321-4 with the State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I . RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the County Standard Agreement 029-321-4 with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority in the amount of $84 , 200 for the period June 25 , 1988 - June 24 , 1989 for third year funding of the Bay Area Trauma Registry Project . II . FINANCIAL IMPACT : Approval of this agreement will result in $84 ,200 of State funding for the Bay Area Trauma Registry. The three participating counties (Contra Costa , Alameda, and Santa Clara) have each pledged an equal share of the inkind match requirement , $14,000 , which represents a portion of the salaries of existing EMS staffs . In addition, the hospitals which are the trauma centers in the participating counties will be contributing an inkind match total of $264 ,000 which represents a portion of the salaries of their existing data collection staffs . Finally, there will be user fees to other participating counties in the amount of $10 ,000. The program budget is , then , as follows : $ 84 , 200 State Block Grant 42 , 000 Counties In-Kind Match 264 ,000 Trauma Center Data Collection 10,000 User Fees from other Counties $ 400 , 200 Total Program Budget The Project received $124,000 of funding from the State for the second year of funding . The . County' s in-kind share was $21 , 250. III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND : On July 22 , 1988 the Department received a letter from the State confirming that the Department will receive a Block Grant in the amount of $84 , 200 to continue the Bay Area Trauma Registry Project . The Trauma Registry will assist the Bay Area Counties which have , or are developing , Trauma Systems to monitor the functioning of their systems .
