SUBJECT: Reimbursement Agreement with Connecticut General
Life Insurance Company (CIGNA)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Authorize the Executive Director or his designee to prepare and
execute a Reimbursement Agreement with Connecticut General Life
Insurance Company (CIGNA) for landscaping improvements at the
Buskirk/BART Office Building in the Pleasant Hill BART Station
Redevelopment Project Area in an amount not to exceed $32,944, and
for site work due to the realignment of Buskirk Avenue in an amount
not to exceed $85, 604.
FISCAL IMPACT
Construction funds from Assessment District 1983-1 administered by
the Agency are available for payment of the noted reimbursement.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
A Development and Disposition Agreement dated as of June 26, 1986
between the Agency and Taylor/Ward Properties and Sonspirit
Properties provides for the Agency to reimburse the property owner
for landscaping and site work required due to the realignment of
Buskirk Ave. The property involved is the existing 51,800 square
foot office building at 2950 Buskirk Ave. , and is owned by
Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CIGNA) .
This Reimbursement Agreement will incorporate provisions of an
Agreement approved by the Agency on March 8, 1988.
