Spooner , Contracts Administrator Costa DATE: August 15, 1988 County SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-301-16 with Center for Human Development for the School-Community Primary Prevention Program SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I . RECOMMENDED ACTION : Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-301-16 effective August 1 , 1988 with Center for Human Development to amend Contract 424-301-15 (effective November 1 , 1987 - October 31 , 1988 ) for the School-Community Primary Prevention Program--Youth Educators with a $33 , 224 increase in the contract payment limit , from $59 ,800 to a new total payment limit of $93 ,024 . II . FINANCIAL IMPACT : This contract continues to be fully funded by the State and requires no County match. The payment limit increase is funded by the State under the State ' s Standard Agreement #D-0010-7 , A-1 (County #29-435-12) . III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On May 3 , 1988 the Board approved Novation Contract 424-301-15 with Center for Human Development for School-Community Primary Prevention Program services . Additional State funding became available to serve high-risk drug or alcohol abusers in April, and the Center for Human Development submitted a proposal (through Contra Costa County) to the State to obtain such funds . The State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs approved the proposal and has amended its contract with the County to provide these additional services . Contract Amendment Agreement #24-301-16 increases the payment limit of the Center for Human Development contract to fund the additional services for high-risk drug or alcohol abusers . This document has been approved by the Department ' s Contracts and Grants Administrator in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Board ' s Order of December 1 , 1981 (Guidelines for contract preparation and processing , Health Services Department ) .
