REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Agency is constructing major street improvements for the
Pleasant Hill BART Specific Plan area. This contract change
order provides for construction of widening of Cherry Lane
required by the conditions of approval of the Treat Commons
projects. The Developer has paid a specific plan fee which
included the cost of these improvements and has requested the
Agency construct the improvements as they did the Treat Boulevard
widening. This change order provides for compensation to the
contractor for that work.
Because this change order and the previously approved change
order collectively exceed $25, 000, Agency approval is required.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve the change order will significantly delay
construction of the improvements as well as impact public access
to the previously approved projects.
