I. RECONIlMENDATION
APPROVE Design Development Documents for the Fire Station No.
7, 1050 Walnut Avenue, Walnut Creek, subject to Archite�cturallil
Division Review Comments dated August 1, 1988, and AUTHORIZE
the Director of General Services to instruct the pIroje.,
architect, Jerry Loving, Architect and Associates, Inc, ,II
Walnut Creek, to proceed with the Construction Documents—
Phase of services. ;I I

II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are sufficient funds in the plant acquisition a�ccounti ��
for this project to cover the architectural services which
will proceed pursuant to this Board Order.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND '
A. On September 29, 1987, the Board considered a report froml '
the County Administrator on additional fire stations !and

firefighters for Contra Costa County Fire Protection; )
District.
B. Subsequently, on instructions from the ��COu�n1. �ty l
Administrator, the Fire District and the General Service
Department began the process for design and constructliori; '
of two new fire stations in Walnut Creek Fire Station;
No. 7 at 1050 Walnut Avenue and Fire Station No. 3 inl1tYiei �
Rossmoor/Tice Valley area.
C. On December 8, 1987, the Board approved a consulting
services agreement dated December 1, 1987, withil J'e",rry!
Loving, Architect and Associates, Inc. ; Walnut Creek;
for full architectural services for Fire .Station No:. 7 .'

RESOLUTION NO. 88/536
SUBJECT: Approving Plans and Specifications
for Replacement of Concrete Paving at
Fire Station No. 4,
700 Hawthorne Drive, Walnut Creek
Budget Line Item No. 7100-4859
Authorization No. 6928-WH859B
WHEREAS Plans and Specifications for Replacement of Concrete
Paving at Fire Station No. .4, 700 Hawthorne Drive, Walnut Creek,
have been filed with the Board this day by the Director of General
Services; and
WHEREAS Plans and Specifications were prepared by the
Architectural Division; and
WHEREAS the Architectural Division cost estimate for the
initial construction contract is $20,000. 00; and
WHEREAS the Board has obtained the general prevailing rates of
wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this project; and
WHEREAS the Board hereby finds that the project is exempt from
Environmental Impact Report requirements as a Class lc Categorical
Exemption under County Guidelines and directs the Director of
General Services to file a Notice of Exemption with the County
Clerk;
IT IS BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that said Plans and Specifications
are hereby APPROVED. Bids for this work will be received on
September 15, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. , and the Clerk of this Board is
directed to publish Notice to Contractors in accordance with
Section 20813(b) of the Public Contract Code, inviting bids for
said work, said Notice to be published in the Contra Costa Times .
