IN THE COUNTY HOSPITAL CONFERENCE ROOM 2500 ALHAMBRA AVENUE MARTINEZ, CALIFORNIA PRESENT: Supervisor Nancy Fanden Supervisor Tom Torlakson Chair Sunne McPeak, Presiding ABSENT: Supervisor Tom Powers Supervisor Robert Schroder CLERK: J. Olsson, represented by Mel Wingett, County Administrator THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CAL17ORNIA DATE: December 17, 1982 MATTER OF RECORD SUBJECT: Financing of Mental Health Programs The Board met with representatives from the offices of Senator Cranston, Congressman Miller, Congressman Dellums, Senator Petris, Senator Boatwright, Assemblyman Campbell and Assemblyman Isenberg for the purpose of reviewing present problems in the funding of mental health programs in the County. Following a discussion of the issues, the Board agreed with the legislative representatives that it was important that meetings be set up between County staff, the County's legislative delegation, and the new Directors of the State Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities as soon as they are appointed. Assemblyman Campbell's office agreed to set up the meeting with the State Department of Mental Health and Senator Petris's staff agreed to set up the meeting with the State Department of Developmental Services. Supervisor McPeak also requested a response from our legislators with respect to the position taken by the Board on December 14, 1982, pertaining to the State Budget deficit. NO FORMAL ACTIONS WERE TAKEN ON THESE MATTERS. THIS IS FOR RECORD PURPOSES ONLY. c.c.
