Manaaer Account Clerk II to Administrative Specialist The accompanying Classification Questionnaire was prepared by Account Clerk II Karen Soden. It accurately describes what she does and has been doing for several years. There is no question that the tasks performed so responsibly by Ms. Soden are inappropriately assigned to an Account Clerk position. Nevertheless, divisional and departmental needs necessitate assigning these tasks and the responsibility for accomplishing them to 'a single position. Ms. Soden ably fills that position. Our expectations of this incumbent in the position Ms. Soden occupies are very accurately described by the description for Administrative Specialist. Key phrases of the description which are pertinent are: "Function in a one-on-one flow of work with a mid-to-upper level manager. " "Technical and analytical duties." Directly relieving a manager of administrative detail and decisions. " "Authorized to act on behalf of the manager. " "Responsibility and authority is recognized by other employees. " The benefit derived by division management ' from specialization in the type of tasks assigned to the Account Clerk position are sufficiently clear to justify reclassification of .,our existing Account Clerk II position to Administrative Specialist.
