That this area be given a top priority by all county departments involved in litter control. BACKGROUND: Attached for the information of the Board is a copy of my letter to Captain Ron Oliver, California Highway Patrol, requesting .his department' s assistance in the removal of abandoned vehicles from Waterfront Road. Martinez, C.x 94553 Subject: ABANDONED VEHICLES ON WATERFRONT ROAD Dear Ron: I was shocked to recently observe over 10 abandoned vehicles littering bcth sides of the street along Waterfront Road. These cars are not just abandoned - they're totally wrecked. Please give this matter your highest priority. The illegal dumping of abandoned vehicles in this area is steadily growing day by day and in no time will constitute a real hazard to the public.
