Prevention Projects) . A joint proposal by County Mental Health
and interested school districts is required to secure funding .
County Mental Health is also required to provide ongoing clini-
cal consultation and training to grant recipients . For a rela-
tively small in-kind investment , the County has the opportunity
to initiate a new, proven, cost-effective prevention/early
intervention program.
On April 28, 1987 the Board authorized submission of a funding
application to the State Department of Mental Health to
establish a Primary Intervention Program at Hillcrest Elementary
School as a joint project with John Swett Unified School

funding application .
