BUTLER RADIOLOGY SERVICES MEDICAL DIVISION NAME DEPARTMENT DIVISION ULTRASOUND DEPARTMENT ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST ULTRASOUND DEPT, 8-5 PM OFFICIAL JOB CLASSIFICATION WORKING JOB TITLE Place of Work and Assigned Hours Time Required Description of Work: (" 30-35 min. Abdominal examinations which include ultrasound of the abdomen, I spleen, liver, renal, pancreas, gallbladder and any other retro- '/ lj peritoneal study require approximately 30 to 35 minutes. 30-45 min. Pelvic and Obstetrical Ultrasound examinations must be scheduled approximately 35 to 45 minutes apart. Diagnostic scans are obtained and a permanent record is made of the significant functional and/or anatomical and pathological data for interpretation by a physician. .Supplies are secured and returned. A complete knowledge and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy is required in order to obtain preliminary cuts for physicians interpretations. A clear understanding of ultrasound physics is necessary for selection of approxopriate transducers and gain settings for quality filming. Vl-J; Adequate records must be maintained both in the Ultrasound and Radiology Department. Cooperation with all personnel to include the entire Radiology Department staff and physicians, outside physicians and ancillary services is necessary for accurate and timely completion of. ordered examinations. ' `` 0MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: r High School graduation or equivalent, satisfactory completion of formal radiological training in an AMA approved school, meet the requirements for registry for ARRT or CRT and one year of ultrasound experience. LICENSE Certified by the State of California as a Radaiologic Technologist. Meet the requirements for registry for RDMS (Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).
